It's Friday.
It's Valentine's Day.
Can you feel the LOVE, Falcons?!?!

NYSSMA's Zone 3 Sr. High Area All State Festival was held at Ithaca College on January 31 and February 1, 2025.
Three South Seneca High School students, previously selected, worked with guest conductors, husband and wife team, David and Doreen Fryling.  The two conductors conducted two pieces each with the Treble Chorus and Mixed Chorus. David Fryling is the current president of ACDA, the American Choral Director's Association, and is director of Choral Activities at Hofstra University.  His wife, Doreen is past president of ACDA and is a the current Choral Music Director at South Side High School in Rockville Centre, NY.
Students' participation is based off of NYSSMA Solo Festival scores from the previous school year.  Congratulations to our participating students, Kayleigh Banfield (Grade 10, Alto I / Treble Chorus), Jacob Borst (Grade 12, Bass I / Mixed Chorus), and Sylvia Brock (Grade 12, Soprano I / Mixed Chorus).  It is a great honor to be selected and attend this event!

It might be a snow day, but let's hear it for all these excelling Falcons! #foreverfalcons

Conditions this morning have persisted to make morning travel dangerous. South Seneca will be closed Thursday, February 6.
The Board of Education Executive Session Meeting will take place as scheduled later tonight.

With snow and icy conditions forecasted through the early morning hours today (Thursday, February 6), South Seneca will operate on a two hour delay. Stay safe everyone!

Here are our HS Staff and Students of the Month for January. Let's hear it for these Falcons! #foreverfalcons

Our High School students had an unforgettable time at Greek Peak Waterpark for Falcon Day yesterday! Huge shoutout to our Sources of Strength group for planning this community building experience for students and staff. A special moment? Waterpark staff told us, "This has to be the best high school group we have ever had!" We couldn’t be prouder of our Falcons for representing our school so well!

Exciting news! Our 5th graders are starting the D.A.R.E. program! This important initiative helps students make safe, responsible choices while building confidence and leadership skills.

High School students and staff delivered baked goods, prepared by Rylee’s Diner, to thank the responding departments for their incredible efforts during last week’s devastating fire. Grateful for our community heroes!

The Board of Education will meet on February 6 at 6pm in the District Office conference room. The Board will immediately go into executive session to discuss matters leading to the appointment of the Superintendent of Schools. This is the only agenda item.

Take note! #forverfalcons
