Sunday, August 14: For those noticing fire companies responding to our Middle-High School this morning, smoke alarms alerted us to a pump motor failure in the building. All is well and the motor is being replaced.
On Friday August 12th, 5-7pm Lodi Whittier Library will host scientists from Cornell’s Yang Center of Bioacoustics at the Lab of Ornithology in a program entitled : Let’s Listen To the Voices of the Ocean!
These scientists have been listening to underwater sound from around the globe for thirty-five years and counting By developing and applying innovative technology locally, the lab is helping people everywhere tune in to the voices of creatures dwelling in our oceans both large and small- from shrimp to whales. Through listening to these songs of the sea, they hope to inspire communities to dive deep into the science and join in on the conversation together.
This program is FREE and open to everyone. No registration needed. There will be fun give-aways as supplies last!
