Students in Mr. Matt Barkee’s Hospitality Business and Foods Management classes in the high school are receiving a much needed ingredient, eggs, from Westwind Farms right here in Ovid.
“Eggs are a staple of many dishes the students prepare, and we are fortunate to be receiving assistance from the great folks at Westwind Farms”, says course instructor Mr. Barkee.
Students have learned different egg cooking techniques such as frying, poaching, and hard boiling. Some of the dishes prepared already with the Westwind Farms eggs have included Country Style Omelets, French Style Omelets, Egg Salad, Shired or Baked Eggs, Custards, French Toast, Bread Pudding, Cheese and Chocolate Soufflés, and various cookies. The students thank Westwind Farms for their support!

Please be aware that we are scheduling periodic building drug searches, using law enforcement coordination. By the nature of the operation, these searches need to be unannounced. We know that the increased police presence at the building can cause community anxiety, and that news travels fast when it is noticed. Be assured that this has been planned well in advance, and there was not an emergency situation at school. At this time, the lock down drill is over and the regular school day has resumed.

At the end of each sports season, the NYSPHSAA honors those teams and individuals that excel in the classroom. Those student-athletes, teams, and schools work very hard throughout the year and deserve to be recognized for their academic success.
To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition with a certificate, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00.
Our Lady Falcons Varsity Volleyball team fit the bill — CONGRATS to them!
