Here is the third marketing period Middle School Honor Roll. Congrats to these hard-working Falcons! #foreverfalcons

Last week, a select group of eight South Seneca students attended the Cornell Splash Program, and had a chance to explore various topics through taking classes with Cornell student leaders.
The Cornell Splash Event is an amazing Saturday, offered once a year on Cornell’s campus. Students in grades 7 to 12 can learn about any subject. Splash is a very open style of learning, designed to let students explore anything that they are passionate about. If you’re passionate about math and science, they have courses on gravitational waves and complex analysis.
Perhaps, you’re more interested in the humanities and want to learn about ancient history and creative writing. Maybe, you’re just looking for things that aren’t normally taught, like an Introduction to Immunology explained in terms of Starcraft or four-player chess (known as bughouse). Cornell students become the teachers for the day and choose their own class topics and content, allowing them to teach on what they’re most passionate about!
Our South Seneca participants were able to sign up for classes in things they were interested in learning more about. The idea that we all can “Teach Anything and Learn Anything” promotes curiosity and a positive growth mindset!
Our South Seneca Students had a great time being curious and sparking interests at Cornell!

There's been a lot of hard work and hard-earned recognition around here. Here's the most recent high school honor roll, Grade 5 Honor Roll, and the Falcon Four awards in our district! #foreverfalcons

The S.S. Falcon Players Drama Club sponsored a Middle School Paint & Slurp Night last week!
The class was led by Artist & S.S. sophomore Aven Bower at the Uptown Diner in Ovid! 19 Middle Schoolers had a GREAT time painting and slurping milkshakes and creating beautiful pieces of impressionist art!
Our goals include helping young people recognize that art, and the creative process overall are life practices that can help to reduce stress; create hope and connect us to our community.
We want our students to be involved in community activities and experience creativity individually and together. A huge THANK YOU shout out to Kendra and Eric Reece for hosting the event in the Diner and providing the tasty milkshakes and snacks!! We hope to host another Paint & Slurp Night before the end of the school year, for high school students too!!

Join us next Tuesday for our annual Budget Hearing! #foreverfalcons

It's that time of year again: budget season! The following are the two most important dates to know:
BUDGET HEARING Tuesday, May 9 6:30 p.m. ES Auditorium, Interlaken
BUDGET VOTE Tuesday, May 16 1:00-8:00 p.m. Lower Cafeteria, Ovid
Until then, the best thing you can do as a potential voter is educate yourself about the budget so that you can make an informed decision. To help out with that, here is the South Seneca 2023-24 Budget Newsletter:
