Middle School Groups - Important Notes

Hello 7th and 8th Grade Parents:

Please share this important information with your students.  I have separated this news item into 3 sections below:   Cayuga,  Seneca, and Virtual.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me at thouseknecht@southseneca.org.  You can also call me at 869-9636, ext. 3101.  I will be in the office on Monday, but even if I'm not, your call gets to my cell phone after a few rings.

A few big things to remember for all groups:

  • Communication is key!  Any ideas from parents and students will be appreciated.
  • We have been working hard at school to figure out the details of a very unique and challenging school year.  We ask that you please remember patience as we are about to start our first week.  I know we will work together to learn, and have fun as we build an even stronger community this year.
  • We know that things might be confusing right now, but with patience we can all work together and do our best and learn together.  If you miss or are late to a class this first week or so, don't panic, just contact your teachers via email and they will help you sort it out.
  • EVERYONE is expected to be fully engaged in school all five days of the week and to communicate regularly with teachers about your classes.
  • Don’t be nervous!  Leave that up to us!! Approach this with some humor and take it as a challenge.  We’ll get through this together!
  • Remember the "Great Ovid Pizza Give-Away." See my news item from yesterday for more information.

I look forward to seeing and working with you all this year!  Thanks in advance for your efforts & patience.

Thank you very much.
Mr. Houseknecht

Cayuga IN SCHOOL Group
*This is our Tuesday/Friday In the School building Group

  • Please feel free to contact me or any of your teachers when you have questions.

  • We will see you on Tuesday this week at school and we will get you all the information you need for the rest of the first week of school and beyond.

  • When you come into the building on the first day, please listen for instructions and follow the hallway directions and markings to keep us socially distant in the building.

  • 7th graders will report up to their 1st period / homebase classrooms @ 7:30am.  Teachers will lead groups down to breakfast from there as needed.

  • 8th graders will be allowed to get breakfast first and then head to their first period classes.

  • Please bring your chromebooks everyday, fully charged.  If you turned in your chromebook in June or otherwise don’t have one, it will be waiting for you in your first period class on Tuesday.

  • Please don't bring any school supplies other than your chromebook the first week or so of school.  Teachers will let you know close to the start what modified supplies, if any, that you will need.

  • Start checking out our SSMS Falcon Forum Google Classroom for news and updates.   This is the same Forum Classroom as last year.  Just in case you need it, the code is:  eqquzit.
