Dear South Seneca School District Community,

NYS Voters approved the Smart School Bond Act in 2014 to authorize the issuance of $2 billion of general obligation bonds to finance improved educational technology and infrastructure to improve learning and opportunity for students throughout NY State.

South Seneca District’s Share is $1,019,853 which the District plans to use over several years.

There were 5 Areas that could be improved using Smart Bond Funds. These are; School Connectivity-Upgrades, Connectivity Projects for Communities, Classroom Technology, PreK Classroom Construction, and High-Tech Security Features.

The District conducted a survey on its website and the community response was to focus on 3 areas: School Connectivity-Upgrades, Classroom Technology and High-Tech Security Features. The implementation timeline and budget are available for public review on our website.

A public comment period will be held at the March 9th Board of Education meeting. This will be held in the Elementary School Library in Interlaken at 7 pm.
