Dear Future Community Partner,
In an effort to broaden the educational experiences of the members of our Junior/Senior class at South Seneca High School, we are looking to community businesses and organizations to partner with us through the Community Fieldwork Program. New in the 2019-2020 school year, the program is intended to provide our Juniors and Seniors with the opportunity to experience the daily and direct operation of community agencies or businesses over the 20 week semester. This fieldwork is an important part of the curriculum for the new Life 101 class.

Four HS Art Students Receive NYS Arts Scholarships:
Four HS art students were given NYS Council of the Arts art scholarships to attend the Rochester Folk Art Guild’s annual Craft Weekend. The Craft Weekend usually hosts close to fifty amateur to professional artists from ages 21+ for a weekend in July on a 20-acre farm in Middlesex, NY. Artists choose from specialized workshops in pottery, printmaking, songwriting, film making, and poetry to explore and create artworks alongside other artists all weekend. The weekend culminates on Sunday with a final showcase where individuals present their work to each other.

National Honor Society Induction 2019:
Ten South Seneca High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society at a ceremony in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, May 28. Students were selected for membership based on criteria such as leadership, service and character. To qualify for National Honor Society at South Seneca, students must maintain a cumulative 90 GPA and perform 50 hours of community service annually and continue to exhibit exemplary leadership and character.
